Credit Consultants Association (CCA) Review

The CCA is a trade association that offers credit-industry certifications. It's a credential-and-membership play — useful for some, unnecessary for others. Here's what you're actually paying for.

Disclosure

We offer our own $27 DIY credit repair course, so treat this as one perspective rather than a neutral source.

What it is

The Credit Consultants Association provides certifications — notably the Board Certified Credit Consultant (BCCC) and Certified Credit Score Consultant (CCSC) — along with membership in a trade association. You get training materials (PDF manuals, audio, video), a non-proctored online exam, and a credential you can display.

Pricing

Costs are structured in pieces: roughly a $99 testing fee per exam (with multiple attempts), a certification fee (~$75), and a membership fee (~$29/year), renewing annually. Bundles land it in the modest range compared with pricier programs.

Pros

  • A recognized-sounding credential and trade-association affiliation
  • Included training materials
  • Inexpensive relative to $400–$500 courses
  • Can add credibility if you plan to market services to clients

Cons

  • A certification is not a license and isn't legally required to help people with credit
  • The credential's real-world value depends on how much your clients care about it
  • Materials teach concepts, but you still execute the disputes yourself

Who it's for

CCA can be worth it if a credential and association membership would help you win trust in a client-facing business. If your goal is simply to fix your own credit — or to start doing disputes without paying for a title — you can skip the certification and focus on the actual skill.

If you want the skill, not the title

Our DIY course is $27, one time, and centers on doing the disputes: six tutorials plus the complete template toolkit. No exam, no annual membership — just the how-to and the letters.
